Rock Painting With The Kids
Looking for a pretty simple activity where half the materials are already in your yard? Try rock painting!
It's as simple as it sounds - literally painting rocks. Root around in the backyard for rocks and paint and decorate them into fun prints, animals and more.
First go on a rock hunt! This one can be fun for the kids since it may involve digging in the dirt. Dig around a bit and look for larger rocks that are flat. The flatter the rock the more surface area to create fun artwork. After you get a good armful bring them inside, or use the hose, and rinse them off. Place them outside to dry.
Next assemble a good selection of paints, glitter and maybe even some googly eyes! Set up a space for the kids (outside to avoid a mess) and let them get to work painting. Paint some yourself to show them what they can do with their imagination.
